An embedded system is a computer system with a dedicated function within a larger mechanical or electrical system, often with real-time computing constraints. It is embedded as part of a complete device often including hardware and mechanical parts.

Date: 30th - 31st December 2017

Duration: 2 Days [8 hrs per day]

Venue: IIT Bombay

Cost of Workshop:₹ 6,500/- per team

Team can consist of maximum 4 members

Refund Deadline: 1st November 2017, No Refunds will be entertained after the Deadline.

**Limited number of seats

**If the Workshop gets cancelled, all the participants will be given full refund, irrespective of the Deadline.

Day 1


  1. Introduction to Embedded System and Robotics
    • Applications and Future Scope

  2. Micro – Controllers and its features
    • Atmega and its features
    • I/ O Ports and Working
    • Hands on
    • How to Glow a LED, LED Patterns
    • How to use a Sensor with uC
    • LED Control using Sensor. (Hands – On)

  3. LCD Display
    • Interface LCD with a micro controller
    • Display Name on LCD. (Hands – On)
    • Display on LCD through the Keyboard. (Hands – On)
    • Making a Digital Clock or Counter . (Hands – On)

  4. UART Communication
    • Communicate with a PC or Laptop (Hands – On)
    • Display Text on PC using the Embedded Board (Hands – On)
    • Control LED with the help of PC. (Hands – On)
Day 2


  1. ADC
    • Display ADC Values on PC and LCD(Hands – On)
    • Control LED Brightness using PWM(Hands – On)

  2. Relay
    • Interfacing Relay with Controller.
    • Writing Code to use Relay as switch to control Real appliances.

  3. Home Automation Project
    • Home Automation Project to Control Heavy Appliances using uC and Sensors.

RULES

Eligibility :
Participants having a valid ID card of their respective educational institutions are eligible for the workshop.

Team specifications :
Participants will have to register in a team with maximum of four members in it.

Prerequisites :
Each participant should bring one laptop with CD-ROM drive, a dongle/Jio and a working laptop Webcam preferably with Windows 8 OS or above (No VISTA).

Certificate criterion :
Participants should be present in all the sessions. Failing this, no certificate will be awarded to the participant.
