4.1 General Rules

  1. Shape: Structure could be of absolutely any shape satisfying the above constraints.

  2. If the structure fails to satisfy any of the above constraints then it will be summarily rejected.

  3. Any team that is not ready at the time specified will be disqualified immediately.

  4. Judges' decision shall be final and binding on all.

  5. The organizers reserve all rights to change any or all of the above rules as they deem fit. Change in rules, if any will be highlighted on the website.


4.2 Team Specifications

A team must consist of 2 or less participants. Participants from different institutions may form a team.


4.3 Eligibility

All students with a valid identity card of their respective institutes are eligible to participate in this competition.


4.4 Registration

Registrations are closed.


4.5 Certificate Policy

  1. Certificates of Excellence will be given to all the winners.

  2. Certificates of Participation will be given to all the teams that are able to satisfy the given constraints and pass the mentioned tests successfully.


4.6 Accommodation

Accommodation registrations for Co∩struct have ended.


4.7 Accommodation Criterion

Due to our limitations on number of people to whom we can provide accommodation at IIT Bombay, we need to shortlist people for accommodation. The shortlisting would be done on the basis of abstract. The abstract should contain a brief idea of the following:


  1. Description of the design adopted for the structure.

  2. Reasons for adopting the particular design and expected weight of the structure.


Only a brief idea of the above is required, not the details. The abstract should be concise and to the point and should not exceed one A4 sheet of text typed with Times New Roman font of size 12 in 'doc' or 'pdf' format. Note that abstract submission is only for teams who wish accommodation during Techfest 2008 at IIT Bombay. Abstracts are not required for participants who can arrange accommodation themselves.



All the abstracts are to be sent to construct@techfest.org on or before 25th December.


4.8 Important Dates

25th December 2007: Last date for submission of online accommodation form for participants who require accommodation at IIT Bombay during Techfest 2008.                                       

10th January 2008: Last date of registration for participants who do not require accommodation during Techfest2008.
