Participants are required to submit an abstract to be eligible for accommodation. First sheet of the abstract should only contain title of the project, team registration number, names of the team members and their respective institutes.
The abstract should cover the following points:
Description of structure of the building
The aim of this is to give a brief overview of the design. The following points (if relevant) may be incorporated:
Number of floors building is having and how you have optimized that.
Placement of various laboratories and seminar rooms (based on the kind of environment they need).
Description of the energy efficient methods used
In this section include the areas where you felt that energy consumption of the building can be reduced and what all measures you have taken to obtain the same.
The entire write up should not exceed 4 A-4 pages (excluding the front page) on MS Word (Times New Roman font, size 12, with single spacing).
Submission of Abstract: Both the write ups must be a single word document. The document must be named as <EC(registration number)>. Example, if your registration number is 1024, your file must be named EC1024.doc.
Each team is allowed to make only one submission. In case of multiple submissions, only the last submission will be evaluated.
Techfest will not be responsible for any email bounces. We will confirm the receipt of abstract as soon as we get it.
For the final round, the following will be required.
Design
Participants are required to submit site plan, plan at all levels, elevations and sections in separate A-1 sheets. Maximum of 10 such A-1 sheets can be submitted.
Computerized 3D model of the building should also be submitted. You can use software's like AutoCAD for the same.
Budget Sheet
Budget for the building must be submitted in the following format:
Table 4: Budget
| Material | Cost Per Unit | Number Of Units | Total Cost |
Failure to keep your material costs at or below Rs. 1500/- per square foot will result in penalty of marks. Judges will look for designs with more detailed, realistic budgets. Your design may include multiple budget sheets. (Refer to 2.2 for details of rate chart)
The ultimate cost of the building must be submitted to the judges in cost per square foot basis.
Documentation for overall energy reduction
Teams are required to give a rough estimate of reduction in energy requirements achieved because of the energy efficient methods/designs that they have used.
Participants will have to make a presentation before a panel of judges explaining how they have made their building energy efficient and how their methods can be practically implemented.
