4.1 Competition Rules

  1. Participants will hand launch their glider from launching zone. Once airborne, they will control their glider using remote control so that it glides for maximum possible time in air and then land as near to centre of landing zone i.e. flag post as possible.

  2. Each team will be given 2 runs. Best of the two runs will be considered for final scores.

  3. Note: The runs will not be consecutive and participants will have sufficient time for making any small changes in their glider if required.

  4. Time of flight is defined as the time starting from the moment glider leaves contact from participant and is fully in air up to the moment when glider comes to halt.

  5. Landing distance is the distance from flag post to the point on the glider nearest to flag post which is in direct contact with ground. This distance will be measured from the position where glider finally comes to halt.If the glider lands i.e. takes complete reaction from the green zone (refer to figure 2)

  6. Points for better control: P1 = 25 - 2d or 0 whichever is more.

  7. Points for better time of flight:P2 = t
    Net points = P1 + P2
    Where,
d= Landing Distance in meters rounded off to first decimal place.
t= Time of Flight in seconds rounded off to nearest whole number.
Participant with maximum net points will be declared as winner.

  8. Net Points = 0, If the glider doesn't take complete reaction from the green zone (refer to figure 3).
