Techfest, by initiating Techfest Nexus has set its claws firmly in the country. Now, after two successful years of the Nexus programme, we thought it is time that we spread its wings over the globe and here we are, coming up with the initiative called Techfest iNexus and yes, you guessed it right, i stands for International. Techfest 2009 is proud to present its newest initiative, iNexus, where we plan to conduct competitions outside the country and as has been the trend, we are the first student festival to achieve this feat.

It started with a dream, a dream of going international and it took us 3 months and lots of hard work to turn this dream into a reality. We have had so many experiences, both good and bad in the journey, with hiccups, troubles, distractions and also a bit of fun and today we are delighted and proudly announce the launch of iNexus.

In its first edition Techfest iNexus is scheduled to be held at two centers and hopefully there would be a few additions to the list. We have associated ourselves with BITS-Pilani, Dubai and University of Moratuwa, Srilanka in this initiative of ours. The grand finale of iNexus, would be held at Techfest 2009 in India, with the best teams from all the countries, pitted against each other, this is one competition, which is going to rock the country and is bound to defy the scale of all robotics competitions held in and out of the the country, hence living up to our motto of defy convention.

Techfest has always been a trend setter in India with its type of competitions and events. Looking back at Techfest’s competitions, we have always been special in setting new trends, Micromouse, the ultimate robotic competition in India, started off by Techfest is now seen in every other Technology Festival. Image Processing competitions, once again started by Techfest is soon catching up in India. It would not take much time to see Techfest 2009’s competitions and ideas in Technology festivals all over the country, but the trend has been set and living up to its legacy, Techfest 2009 has come up with a variety of competitions, all of them, unique in some or the other way.

Photovore: India’s first ever solar robotic competition, Nexus is culminated with this unique light following robot competition.

Arthrobot: The king of them all, a legged robotic competition which is going to rock the country, with the quality of the teams participating, from all parts of the globe.

FTEB: Full Throttle Earth Bound, IC engne robots to race on a track filled with jumps, bumps, dirt and mud.

RoboWars: Introducing to India, the inter college Robot Combat.

Witricity: A challenge to all the geeks in India, to transfer electricity with out a wire.

And we do have lots of other competitions, which are not going to let your expectations down.
