If you are the e-punk who breathes in the virtual world and boasts his graphic accelerators specs, then here comes the Gaming Zone at Techfest 2010. This January find the best gamers facing each other in fully loaded gaming machines competing in the virtual arena.
First person shooting, real time strategy, racing, sports find all the exciting genre of games under one hut. You can also hang out with cool gamers, and discuss strategies and see their moves, just a few of the things you can do at Techfest.

2.1 Competition Structure
The tournament will be knock out. The team which wins its 1st stage match advances to the next stage. The knock out continues till we get final 4 top scoring teams for the semi finals. The match between the teams losing the semi finals will also be played to decide the 3rd place in the competition.
2.2 Match Format
- Every prelims and quarters match will be played on one map with a total of 14 rounds.
- 7 rounds each as Counter Terrorist and Terrorist.
- The start money for the match will be $800.
- The team first to win 8 matches will be the winner of the match.
- For the Semi-Finals and Final total number of rounds will be 20 (10 each as a Counter Terrorists and Terrorists). The team first to win 11 rounds will be the winner of the match.
- For each round win, team will be rewarded 1 point.
- Tie-Breaker
- a. There will be extra 6 rounds played on the same map, 3 each as Counter Terrorists and Terrorists.
- b. The start money for the tie breaker rounds will be $10000.
- c. The team will start as the same as it finished in the normal rounds (Counter Terrorist or Terrorist) and team change after 3 rounds.
- d. The team first to win 4 rounds total will be the winner of the match.
- e. If a tie breaker also leads to a draw then 1 extra round will be played and the winner will be the winner of the match.
The above rules apply for the matches except for finals.
- Finals
- a. 2 maps will be played by the teams in the final with the same rules as given before (number of total rounds will be 20) except for the tie-breaker and the selection of the maps will be random.
- b. The team with highest number of points after 2 maps will be the winner.

- Tie-Breaker
- a. Another Map will be played (number of total rounds will be 14). The winner of this map will be the winner of CS 1.6 at Techfest 2010.
- b. In case of another tie, tie-breaker rules given before will be applied.
2.3 Game Settings
The following maps will be used for the tournament:
- de_dust2
- de_train
- de_inferno
- de_nuke
Use of Tactical Shield is strictly forbidden. If a team uses it intentionally or unintentionally, his team loses the match immediately.
Intentional or unintentional use of bugs and/or exploits is strictly forbidden.
Any questions regarding bugs and/or exploits must be brought to the tournament official present there.
If a team is found to use bugs and/or exploits, the opponent team shall be declared as the winner of the match and a warning will be given to the team that used bugs and/or exploits by the tournament official.
The following settings will be set on servers:
- Roundtime: 1 min 45 sec
- Freezetime: 10 sec
- Buytime: 20 sec
- Friendly Fire: On
2.4 Rules
- Players must be present in the tournament area with the whole team at the notifications schedule. Players are advised to be present a few minutes before the schedule to avoid any unpredictable delay. If the team is not present at the notification schedule, they shall be disqualified.
- Teams will be given 5 minutes to configure their settings and after that use of console or change in settings will be strictly prohibited.
- A toss will be done to decide the side team wants to take.
- The players have the freedom to bring and use their own controlling device, that is, mouse (USB only).
- If the match is involuntary interrupted (player crash, server crash, etc.):
- a. If one of the players is disconnected or crashed, he must come back in to the game as soon as possible and the round will be restarted.
- b. If the server crashes before 3 rounds, the whole game shall restart from the beginning else the score will be recorded and the in the new game start money will be set to 4000$.
- c. No compensation will be given in the money earned in game and lost due to interruption of the match.
- The team should be of 5 members and no change of players in the team is allowed after they have played their first match.
All the above rules should be followed without argument with the tournament official, the violation of which may result in player or team disqualification, the decision to do the same lies in the hand of the tournament official present there.

- For the Finals, game mode will be best of 5 races(2 circuit, 1 sprint, 1 drag, 1 speedtrap).
3.3 Game Settings
- Courses: Diamond, Dunwich Bay, Heritage Heights, Bay Bridge, East Park, Forest Green, Heritage and Diamond and Seaside & Lennox.

3.4 Rules

4.1 Competition Structure
- Tournament will be knockout.
- The winning team will advance to the next stage.
- Knockout continues till 4 teams are selected for the semi finals.
- Semi finals and the Final too will consist of ONLY 1 GAME. We may have best of 3 games if time permits.
- The losing teams of the semi final will play for the 3rd place in the competition.
- Match Winner: The team who destroys the opponent's frozen throne/world tree first, or if the opponent surrender.
4.2 Match Format
- Games will be 5 vs. 5.
- Version: Warcraft III Frozen Throne expansion set v.1.24b or latest stable version.
- Map: 6.64 or the latest stable map.

4.3 Rules
- Backdooring: Backdooring is allowed.
- Sharing of Items: Sharing of regeneration items (Ring of Regeneration, Sobi Mask, Tangoes, Clarities, Flasks etc.) is allowed. Sharing of other items is not allowed.
- Item Restrictions: There are no item restrictions.
- Abuses & Exploitation:
- a. Hero Trapping (Warning or Game Loss): Intentionally trapping enemies into trees or holes is not allowed.
- b. Pause/Resume Abuse (Warning or Game Loss): You may pause at the beginning of the game to wait for everyone to arrive (maximum of 3 minutes). From this point onwards pausing without any valid reason is disallowed. Resuming the game without the other team confirming that they are ready is not allowed either.
- c. Creep Blocking (Warning or Game Loss): Creep blocking permanently is not allowed but creep slowing/delay or luring is allowed. It is not allowed to block creeps with the help of spells, such as fissure, sprout etc. it is only allowed to use the hero model to intercept with creeps (accidental blocks are okay, as long as the fissure - for example - was directed at an opposing hero).
- d. Base Entrance Blocking (Warning or Game Loss): It's not allowed to block the base entrance for defensive purpose with the help of spells, such as fissure (accidental blocks are okay, as long as the fissure - for example - was directed at an opposing hero).
- e. Bugs Exploitation (Warning, Game Loss or Disqualification): No Exploitation of any known old or new bug discovered during game play. No excuses will be entertained. Ignorance is not an excuse. Participants/Teams are expected to know what these bugs are. Participants/teams that experience any abnormal game play are advised to inform the admins.
- Cheating (Disqualification): Any kind of cheat is strictly prohibited. Warkeys/DotAkeys are allowed.
- Disconnections: If disconnection occurs after 5 minutes, the game can be restarted depending upon the mutual agreement of players. If an agreement cannot be reached upon the decision of admin will be final & binding. If disconnection ocurs within 5 minutes of playtime, it will be restarted.
- Players must be present in the gaming zone arena at the notified schedule. Players are advised to be present a few minutes before the schedule to avoid any unpredictable delay. If the player is not present at the given time, (s)he shall be disqualified.
- In order to decide the side for any team (Scourge/Sentinel) or to decide the team which picks first, a coin will be tossed and the winner will decide.
All the above rules should be followed without argument with the tournament official, the violation of which may result in player or team disqualification, the decision to do the same lies in the hand of the tournament official present there.

5.1 Competition Structure
- Tournament will be a knockout.
- The match between the players losing the semi finals will also be played to decide the 3rd place in the competition.
5.2 Match Format
- The matches will be played 1 v/s 1. The game will be played on computer keyboards.
- You are only allowed to use club teams.
- The half time for all the matches is fixed at 6 minutes.
- In case of a draw an extra time of 2 minutes is automatically added and a penalty shootout will follow (if required).
- All the conditions will be standard (fatigue on, offside on etc.).
5.3 Rules
- Players must be present in the tournament area at the notification schedule. Players are advised to be present a few minutes before the schedule to avoid any unpredictable delay. If the team is not present at the notification schedule, they shall be disqualified.
- Players will be given 5 minutes to configure their settings and choose teams.
- In case of disconnections, if disconnection occurs before half time, the game can be restarted depending upon the mutual agreement of players. If an agreement cannot be reached upon the decision of admin will be final & binding.
