Introduction

We have all heard of cyber crime and hacking. With the increased numbers and expanding knowledge of hackers and alike, combined with the growing number of system vulnerabilities, protecting our systems and fighting cyber crime is absolutely critical. This workshop will show you what it takes to fight the hacker shenanigans and cyber crime.

Content Outline

  1. The aim of this workshop is to introduce participants with the basics of information security.
  2. The workshop would be divided into two levels
    CEHE(Certified Ethical Hacking Expert Level 1) would be of 16 hours.To view detailed contents click here

    3. Each Successfully Registered team is expected to bring one laptop and a pen-drive.

About Trainer

Sunny Vaghela (Director & CTO, TechDefence Pvt. Ltd.)
Sunny Vaghela is 24 year old renowned Ethical Hacker and has wide experience in the field of Ethical Hacking, Cyber Crime Investigation & Forensics. At the age of 17, Sunny found many loopholes in SMS & VoIP Technology. Sunny has also found loopholes like "Session Hijacking" and "Cross Site Scripting" in popular social networking website www.orkut.com. He has been awarded by Rajiv Gandhi Young Achiever Award as IT Expert of Gujarat. He has solved more than 16 cases in association with Crime Branch, Ahmedabad. He traced out origin of Terror Email Trail of Ahmedabad Serial Bomb Blasts. He also helped Mumbai Police to get information on "jamat ud dawah" after Mumbai Terror Attacks. He has addressed more than 160 IT security conferences/workshops at National and International Level across Globe. He has trained professionals from many reputed Companies like Google, Yahoo!, ISACA, Temenos, ZOHO, Delloitte, K7 Antivirus, TCS, HCL, Sify and many Co-operative Banks of India. At 21, he is founder and Chief Technical Officer of TechDefence Pvt Ltd. which is rapidly growing IT Security Training and Consulting Organization focusing on Cyber Crime Investigation, Cyber Law Consulting, Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing.

Eligibility
Participants having a valid ID card of their respective educational institutions are eligible for the workshop.

Team Specifications
The exercises in this workshop can be done independently, so the registration will be on an individual basis.

Pre Requisites
This workshop does not need any prerequisites.

Payment Details
The cost of the level 1 workshop is Rs 1200/- per participant.
The cost of the level 2 workshop is Rs 600/- per participant.
Details of the payment mode will be mailed to the participants after registration for the workshop.

Certificate Criterion
All participants should be present in all the sessions. Failing this, no certificate shall be awarded to the participant.

Payment Procedure

  1. Due to limited availability of seats for the workshop, registrations will be done purely on first come first serve basis.
  2. Making a payment for the workshop does NOT guarantee accommodation during the festival.
  3. Cost of the workshop:
    • Level 1 : Rs. 1200/- per participant.
    • Level 2 : Rs. 600/- per participant.
  4. In order to proceed with your registration you are required to deposit the amount via DD(preferably via Speed - Post).
  5. DD should be made in the name of "Techfest Workshop" payable Mumbai.
  6. After registering, a scanned copy of the DD must be e-mailed to workshops_ht@techfest.org. After sending the scanned copy, a confirmation mail would be sent to the teams. Teams must courier the DD only when they receive the confirmation mail.
    NOTE : If the teams courier the DD without sending the scanned copy first, their DD WONT be accepted.
  7. Scanned copy of the DD should be mailed before 25th November, 2011.
  8. The mail of the scanned copy of the DD should be in following format:

    Subject: Team id_payment (This is to be STRICTLY followed.)
    example – "HT 1001_payment" for level 1 and "HTT 1001_payment" for level 2
    Content:
    • DD number
    • Team details of all the members (team member's name, email id, contact number)
    • Accommodation Required – Yes/No (Preference will be given to those that do not require accommodation)
    • Attachment : Scanned copy of the DD.
  9. Courier us the DD at the below mentioned address -

    Your registration will be confirmed once we receive the DD. Your DD should reach us by 10th December, 2011.
  10. The following details should be written on the back side of the DD:

    • Workshop Name
NOTE : DD’s that do not have the following details written on the back side will be straightaway rejected.

In the event of requiring accommodation, participants are requested to make the payment at their own RISK. Techfest 2012 does not guarantee accommodation for the workshop. If in case Techfest is able to provide accommodation, details regarding the same will be notified to the participants.

Level 1 Final
