Techfest brings forth its most distinguished segment - Lecture Series, to bridge the gap between the industry, academia and students by giving an opportunity to all to interact with the most eminent personalities of varied fields. In its constant endeavor to inspire, inform and update students with modern advancements, it has been acting as a platform for both the brilliant and the blooming to connect and have an interaction of a lifetime.

Policy for attending lectures: There is no registration or fees required to attend the lectures at Techfest. All the lectures will be held in a span of three days (3rd to 5th January, 2014). You are required to carry a valid Photo ID card along with you for entry into IIT Bombay during Techfest. The entry into lectures is purely based on first come first serve basis.

He has been described as “an academic superstar,” (New York Times), “the most relevant living philosopher,” a “rock-star moralist,” (Newsweek) and “the most famous teacher of philosophy in the world.” (New Republic) Sandel’s writings have been translated into 24 languages. His legendary course “Justice” is the first Harvard course to be made freely available online and on television, including NDTV and the BBC. It has been viewed by tens of millions of people around the world, including in China, where Sandel is reported to have “the kind of popularity usually reserved for Hollywood movie stars and NBA players.”

Chintamani Nagesa Ramachandra Rao known as C.N.R. Rao currently serving as the Head of the Scientific Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India is also a Fellow of the Royal Society. Rao has honorary doctorates from 60 universities from around the world. He has authored around 1,500 research papers and 45 scientific books. On 16 November 2013, the Government of India conferred him Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India, making him the third scientist after C.V.Raman and A P J Abdul Kalam to get the award. Among his numerous awards and recognitions, notable are Hughes Medal by the Royal Society, Centenary Medal of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London, Legion of Honor, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Shri.

He also received his Ph.D. from Georgia Tech in 2004. He worked in bioinformatics as a postdoctoral fellow at Queen's University with Dr. Janice Glasgow and is currently an associate professor at the Institute of Cognitive Science at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario where he is the director of the Science of Imagination Laboratory.
