Model United Nations (also Model UN or MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate participants about current events, topics in international relations, diplomacy and the United Nations agenda.

Recognising the importance of getting young men and women involved in the policy changes that affect their world, Techfest calls forth students with different perspectives and a host of different ideas to TIMUN, IIT Bombay.

Letter from Secretary-General

Dear Delegates, Executive Board members, and friends of TIMUN, IIT Bombay,

I am thrilled to invite you to TIMUN 2014, a Techfest initiative, which promises yet another incredible three days of experiences, memories, and lifelong friends. As anyone who has attended the Techfest International MUN before can attest, it is a one-of-a-kind intellectual and social conference that brings together the greatest assortment of young minds from around the globe to engage in cultural exchange. Last year, we boasted of nearly 300 pan India delegates, a true testament to the unparalleled experience that awaits delegates and advisors at TIMUN. The TIMUN 2014 will be held in Mumbai, India.

Voted The Telegraph’s "India's Most Livable City" in 2011, Mumbai combines the natural beauty of India’s western coast with the lively colors of the city's nightlife and culture. It’s also one of India’s most cosmopolitan city as well as, home to some of the Biggest Industrial Magnates of the country. TIMUN aims to set the bar even higher for the various Model UN competitions happening across India. We warmly invite you to join us in Jan 2014 for the most memorable MUN experience yet.
