How do four teams in four different corners of India pitch their machines against each other without having to sacrifice their home advantage? Quite simple in fact, they do it through Nexus. Nexus, a feature unique to the precedents, is an effort by Techfest 2009-10 to reach out to the whole of India. Initiated in Techfest 2007, it is held as a preliminary level competition from where the top three winners of each center are selected to compete against the best in the country in India's national robotics challenge to be held at IIT Bombay.
Living true to its legacy of introducing new dimensions to robotics in the country, the competition chosen at the nexus level is CommQUEST. This year, Nexus offers you the awesome combination of grid following and wireless communication at the National Robotics Challenge.
Nexus is the first step in the World Challenge for our Indian Participants. Winning in this easy statement, gets you a direct entry into the penultimate round of A.N.T.Z. Here the Indian teams will complete for the glory of being crowned the Nations's best and also for representating India in the World Challenge
The Nexus Centers for this year are strategically placed spreading over the country in the most effective way:
- Central Zone - Medi-Caps Institute of Technology and Management, Indore (4th October , 2009)
- West Zone - Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai (4th October , 2009)
- East Zone - National Institute of Technology Rourkela, Rourkela (10th October, 2009)
- North Zone - Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Delhi (11th October , 2009)
- South Zone - National Institute of Technology Calicut, Calicut (24th October, 2009)
