Indian Sudoku Championship
All those who could not participate in the 2 online round or failed to qualify from these rounds can still participate in the on the spot round on 23rd January 2010 in IIT Bombay. No pre-registrations are required for this.
All teams selected from the Online rounds are eligible to participate directly in the 2nd Elims to be held on 24th January in IIT Bombay.
1.1 Introduction
A game in which the crowd don't cheer as you rush towards the goal, not because they wouldn't, but because they can't; holding their breath and excitement, awestruck by the incredible brilliance of sheer mind power. Sounds Geeky ? Here is the chance to witness and show how being geeky is so cool. It's a mania to be the quickest and the sharpest. Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, what you are going to witness here, is the clash of the brightest, sharpest and fastest minds of India through the game of Sudoku.
The first World Sudoku championship (WSC) was held in March 2006 in Lucca, Italy. The 5th WSC will be held in April 2010 in Philadelphia, USA. Techfest 2010 in association with Logic Masters India invites you to test your logical skills in the Indian Sudoku Championship and get an opportunity to represent India at the WSC in Philadelphia.

2.1 Elimination Rounds
Via Online Screening Round 1 and 2
- Each registered contestant will solve a set of online puzzles. Top 30 contestants from these 2 online rounds would be selected for the next rounds. Each online round would have 3 types of puzzles. The best score of each participant in each types of puzzle over the 2 rounds will be considered. Accommodation will be provided to a few of these top 30 contestants during Techfest at IIT Bombay.
- The Second Stage of selection is a written test. The details of this test shall be disclosed during Techfest 2010.
Via On the Spot Entries
Contestants can register on the spot and participate in the Elimination Round which will be held at Techfest on 23rd January. Top 30 contestants will be short listed from this round for the second stage at Techfest 2010.
2.2 Elimination Round 2
The 30 contestants from the online elimination and 30 from the on the Spot Elimination will compete again in a written test on 24th January 2010 and the top 8 contestants from these will be selected for the Grand Finale.
2.3 Grand Finale
Top 8 contestants will reach the Grand Finale to be held on the third day of Techfest 2010. The number of rounds and marking scheme will be disclosed during the Indian Sudoku Championship Grand Finale on 24th January 2010.
2.4 Eligibility Criteria:
All resident Indian nationals, irrespective of age, can participate in the Indian Sudoku Championship. The sudoku-solving skills of contestants will be tested through the regular Classic sudokus as well as different sudoku variations which appear in the WSCs. Top rankers at the Indian Sudoku Championship will be eligible to represent India at the 5th World Sudoku Championship to be held in Philadelphia in April 2010. Participants who do not have valid college i-cards will be required to produce alternate photo identity cards like Driving license, voters card etc.

Tips & Tricks
Please go through all the points :
- Please check your login details ( Email, TeamID & Password ) in advance, and make yourself familiar with the login process.
- The question booklets will be available after 8th Jan Midnight. Passwords will be available at 10,11 & 12 PM respectively. Please have your printer ready, in case you are solving the questions on printed paper.
- The "Submit" button appears automatically when the round starts, and disappears when the time ends. In no case, you can submit your answers after round ends, but you can see your submitted answers. So be in a habit to submit your answers at regular interval.
- Your successfully submitted answers will appear in the table if you refresh the page. In case you can't see your answers, something went wrong.
- In case you are unable to submit, use one of the following methods :
- Send an email containing your TeamID and Answer to webdeveloper1990@gmail.com before the end of game.
- In case you have lost your internet connection, take an image of the page, using any "Print Screen Software" or save it in "OneNote" format. Your image must contain the server time, or else the image will be disqualified. Send the image to webdeveloper1990@gmail.com within 5 minutes after the end of game. Note: Your image must be taken before the round has ended.
