Web Application Security

The workshop is intended to give theoretical as well as practical hands-on exposure to common vulnerabilities that exist in Web applications today. We intend to interweave theory sessions with lab sessions. The workshop will educate the attendees on how improper design and development methodologies lead to vulnerabilities. Along with a talk on the best practices for design and development of secure web applications the workshop will also provide a tutorial on some free tools that can be used to better understand these vulnerabilities. The theory session will describe a class of vulnerabilities, their cause and effect and how to avoid them, followed by a practical session where attendees will use the tools and put to practice their theoretical knowledge.
